Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

These soft and fluffy old fashioned chocolate chip oatmeal cookies are cooked to perfection with a soft middle and lightly golden-brown crispy edges.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Pre heat oven to 350 ℉
  • In a large glass bowl sift together dry ingredients. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix together soften butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined. The mixture should be light and fluffy.
  • Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients folding in one cup at a time until well combined.
  • Cover bowl and put in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and once the dough is done chilling scoop the dough evenly and 3 inches apart on the parchment paper.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes or just until the edges are lightly golden brown. Allow to cool on a cooling rack.
  • Store in an air-tight container for up to one week.
