4th Of July Weekend & Outside Summer Things
There’s something so special about the sound of spending all day outside, eating yummy food, and the sky lighting up from fireworks. Our 4th of July weekend was filled with all of that and I’m here for it. It was a hot 4th but it was so much fun. I love holidays with my family and being able to create fun and lasting memories with our boys. I look forward to each holiday as they get older because I know they’ll love it more and more each year.

My toddler didn’t have gymnastics on Tuesday because they closed for the week for the 4th of July. I didn’t even find out about it until about an hour before we had to leave. LOL. Gotta love that as a mom. I plan my day out when we have things going on ahead of time, so I was ready. Ahaha. Honestly it was kind of nice not going. I’ve been liking staying home more recently. I was so busy the last couple months, so I’ve really been enjoying these past couple weeks of staying home more. Don’t get me wrong I love doing things with my boys. It was just a nice little break I needed.

On Wednesday I took the boys to JoJo’s jungle. It’s one of the bigger parks near me and it has a splash pad as well. I know I’ve mentioned JoJo’s in some of my other blog posts before. I love the bigger parks besides how many people go there. LOL.

Both boys had a blast at the park and playing in the water. I was so surprised how much baby boy loved it. When my toddler was his age, he really didn’t care for the water much.

I’ve been getting less books at the library these last couple of times because I know I go overboard sometimes. LOL. I decided I need to chill out. You can find all of our favorite library books for the week on my amazon storefront! Unfortunately, a few of the books aren’t on amazon. but I linked all the ones that are!
- In The Night Garden
- Truckery Rhymes
- The ABC of Musical Instruments
- The Wind in The Wallows
- The Very Hungry Caterpillars First Spring
- The Very Hungry Caterplliars First Fall
- Boop The Snoot
- The Little Dump Truck
- Bedtime For Duckling
- Where’s the Narwhal
- Little Learning Book Set
Ever since I got photos done with my toddler I’ve wanted some with baby boy as well. I mentioned it to my sister a few weeks back and we planned to do them on Thursday. She still has to edit them, so I haven’t gotten them yet, but I’m super excited to see how they turned out. I will be sharing them so stay tuned!

If this doesn’t describe mom life perfectly. Ahaha.

I used to hate getting photos done because I didn’t like being in them, but I got over myself and now I love getting photos done. Especially if my babies are involved. LOL.

I’ve been so excited for the 4th of July (as I am every holiday) LOL. I made my toddler a 4th an American flag with pancakes and fruit for breakfast. He loved it! Baby boy ate the same thing I just didn’t give it to him as a flag. LOL. I would’ve but I didn’t even think about it until it was too late. He’s been eating so well since I started feeding him what we eat. He’ll literally eat everything we eat.

Since me and my husband have been together most years, we’ve gone up north with his family. Until last year. We stayed in town and went and celebrated at a park. We decided to do the same thing this year.

I wasn’t disappointed at all. I like going up north, but I just haven’t been feeling it. And I knew it would be rough for baby boy and my toddler being in the heat for the whole weekend and I sometimes just enjoy spending time in town with my little family.

The 4th was HOT. It reached 90 degrees. I do enjoy the heat, but I wasn’t expecting it to be that warm. I don’t think it’s ever gotten that hot on the 4th of July since I’ve lived in Wisconsion.

We didn’t head to the park until about 4pm. I wanted the boys to get a good nap in before and that was the best time that worked for us. Thinking back, I’m glad we went later. I’m not sure how long any of us would’ve lasted with it that hot. LOL.

There was a parade, animals (my toddler was obsessed), yummy food and drinks, music, and fireworks. My toddler had so much fun during the parade. He loved getting all the candy and watching all the trackers and things. Baby boy definitely didn’t have the greatest time since it was so hot, but I do think he liked watching some of the parade.

After the parade we decided to get some food. Me and my husband both got the BEST Asian food. I forget to take a picture before we ate it though. My toddler wanted mac and cheese but the only place that had it was sold out. He wasn’t too disappointed. All he wanted was the lemonade. LOL. He shared with my husband, and I shared some with baby boy.

We were able to see both my sisters and some of their family as well. Seeing them on holidays is always my favorite. It brings back old memories of past years we spent together.

Of course, we ended the night with glow sticks, sparklers, and fireworks. Both my toddler and baby boy LOVED the fireworks. I loved watching baby boy experience fireworks for the first time. I’m happy he didn’t fall asleep for them.

Both boys were so tired but didn’t fall asleep in the car on the way home. I’m okay with that I love laying with my toddler and rocking baby boy to sleep. It’s one of my favorite things to do. Once they were asleep me and my husband spent some time together and watched a show for a little bit.

This was the best 4th of July with my family so far! My boys had so much fun, and I truly love watching them experience everything. Thanks for stopping by to read! I hope you all had a great 4th of July!
