Slow Mornings, Toddler Things, and Outside Adventures
It’s almost 10pm and me and my husband are currently watching a show together. Moments like these make me realize that I truly am living the life I’ve always dreamed of. The boys are in bed after a fun day filled with lots of outside time, and I’m blogging while spending time with my best friend. I truly love blogging more than I ever thought I would and I’m so glad it’s something that is a part of my daily life.
My mornings couldn’t get better than they are as a mom. I literally love my slow mornings so much. Thinking back, I’m living in answered prayers. I remember thinking how I always wanted to stay home and not go to a 9-5 job. Especially one I disliked so much. I would cry almost every Sunday because I didn’t want to go to work on Monday. Now thinking about it I want to cry because I’m literally living my dream. I’m so, so thankful for this life and that I married the man I did. He’s my best friend and giving me the life I’ve always dreamed.

Since it’s been warmer out my days have been FULL. I feel like I’m busy all the time. I want my boys to be able to do all the fun things this summer and since summer doesn’t last long here in Wisconsion I’m trying to do everything all the time. So, that means are weeks are full of all the fun things.

It’s definitely a lot sometimes but it’s so worth it. My toddler has so much fun doing new things and spending all the time outside. Baby boy is loving all the new things we’re doing too, and he also loves being outside.
Last week when we went to the library I was told that they were doing a flower planting event for kids the following week. I knew I had to take the boys. I’ve was so excited all week for this. At first, he didn’t want to go and plant the flower and listen to the gardening stories. He just wanted to play. LOL. But after I got him over there and he saw all the fun gardening things he was loving it all.
They told stories, helped my toddler planet and water his flower, and then he was able to decorate it with bugs and things. He had so much fun and waters his flower daily.

We made the most of the whole afternoon. I brought library books, snacks, and a blanket so that way we could have a little picnic after my toddler was done planting his flower. It was at a park, so he was able to get out a bunch of energy as well. Who am I kidding LOL. His energy is endless I don’t think he got any of it out.

Baby boy tried the swing for the first time, and he LOVED it. My toddler has never liked the swing and still doesn’t. Baby boy is so much different than my toddler was at his age. It’s crazy how much of a difference little tiny humans can have. LOL.

On Thursday I took the boys to JoJo’s jungle. It’s one of the bigger parks about 25 minutes from where we live. They have a splash pad too which my toddler is obsessed with. He Loves anything to do with water. LOL. So, he was really excited about going to JoJo’s.

We will for sure be going to JoJo’s more this summer. This may just be my toddler’s favorite park. Baby boy had a blast as well and loved going on the swings again.
My toddler hasn’t been liking his naps recently but if he doesn’t take them, he gets really cranky. I thought maybe if we went and did things more before his nap maybe he’d take his naps easier. So far it hasn’t changed. LOL. He still just wants to stay up all day long. I really don’t mind besides that he gets super tired and cranky. I’m just being patient with him and still try for a nap daily even if it doesn’t always happen.

With all the outside time lately I feel like it’s so hard to catch up on cleaning. I try to catch up on cleaning on super hot and rainy days or during nap time if both boys nap. Some days more cleaning gets done than others and I’ve come to realize that that’s just the way it is and it’s really not a huge deal.

Saturday was a HOT day so I decided to take the boys to the aquatic center. I took my toddler here all the time when I was pregnant and he loves it just as much as he did when he was younger. Baby boy loves water way more at this age than my toddler did so I can say he had so much fun on Saturday.
Since my husband wasn’t with us my toddler wasn’t able to do as much as he wanted but he still had all the fun, and this will be something we will be doing all summer long so my husband will be along at some point and my toddler can try the other things outs.

My toddler wants to be outside all the time. Sunday it was over 90 degrees outside, and he still wanted to play outside. So of course, we didn’t spend all day outside, but we did find some time to get out when it was a little cooler after we ate dinner. Sunday was also a day he didn’t take a nap so he was in bed a little earlier than normal.

Baby boy turned 8 months old on the 21st and I can’t believe how big he is already. I feel like my toddler was just this old. I know I bring it up almost every time in my weekly highlight posts, but I just can’t get over how big both baby boy and my toddler are getting and how fast time is going. It’s literally almost July and I feel like it was just Christmas time. Before I know it, baby boy will be one and we will be setting up our Christmas tree. LOL. Speaking of Christmas tress we will be getting a new one this year! I’m so excited. LOL. I’m a Christmas girly for sure.
Today we went to the Monk Botanical gardens that is about 30 minutes away from us. I’ve never been there, but we did used to live literally 3 minutes away. I didn’t think it was anything fun and boy was I wrong. It was so cool, and I think I liked it just as much as my toddler.

It was so beautiful. There was a fountain that my toddler threw pennies into, all the flowers, a pound, and all the fun things to look at. Giant butterfly’s, dragonfly’s, bumble bees, a horse, literally everything my toddler is obsessed with. He had such a fun time.

It was super hot out but that didn’t stop my toddler. LOL. He had so much fun even in the heat. baby boy was able to nap in his carrier for a little while but didn’t nap very long I think because it was so warm out.

There was even giant chess and connect four that we were able to play with. My toddler loved it so much. I will say that we will definitely be coming back. I think it would be so fun and a lot nicer if we come when it’s not as hot out. LOL. I also think it would be super fun to come during the fall time when all the colors are changing. Baby boy will probably be walking by then and both of them with have so much fun!
We headed to the library right after because we had some books that needed to be returned by tomorrow that I didn’t want to be late. We’ve come to really like the library. We were able to return the books and also get a bunch more. I will share my toddlers favorites in my next highlight post.

After dinner we ended the evening playing outside in the rain and with bubbles. My toddler always wants to go outside when it’s raining, and I try to always go out with him when it does as long as it’s not a really bad storm. He started out with his rain jacket on, but it was just too warm so he wanted it off right away. LOL. I can’t blame him I’d be the same way.
