The Best Fudgy Brownies Ever!

With this winter weather in Wisconsion not going away I thought it would make for a perfect day of baking my favorite fudgy brownies with my toddler. I seriously love that he loves baking with me so much. I know I talk about it all the time, but I just can’t get over it. It makes me so happy. Soon enough baby boy will be helping us bake too!

I’ve been re watching my favorite show recently (heartland) and after my workout, shower, and a quick pick up I sat down to watch it for a bit before I started baking. My toddler was still napping, and I didn’t want to start without him. An ideal baking day. Bake brownies, drink coffee, and cuddle up on the couch with a fresh brownie while watching heartland. Especially with this weather.

TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST AND FUDGIEST BROWINES

Don’t over mix: Cakey brownies are the worst. That’s why It’s super important not to over mix the brownie batter. Doing so will allow air to get trapped in the batter and you’ll end up with cakey brownies.

Don’t overcook the brownies: If you want the fudgiest brownies, you’ll want to make sure you don’t overcook them. Take them out of the oven when they look firm to the touch and when a toothpick comes out with a streak of brownie batter and a few brownie crumbs. The brownies will continue to cook in the baking dish for about 15 minutes after removing them from the oven. Leaving you with fudgy brownies when ready to cut. Nobody wants a hard, dry, and overcooked brownie.

Cool before cutting: You’ll want the brownies to cool completely before cutting however only allow them to cool for about 15 minutes in the baking dish. Then pull up on the parchment paper to remove the brownies and let the brownies finish cooling on the counter.

Wipe the knife between cuts: For clean-cut brownies place completely cooled brownies on a cutting board and clean your knife with a paper towel between cuts. Pull the knife out slowly between cuts and if you’re wanting to have all your brownies shaped perfectly the same pull out a ruler and measure away!

Always use melted butter: I’m telling you if you want super moist and fudgy brownies you need to melt your butter completely and unless you’re wanting a cake like texture for your brownies don’t use room temperature butter! Always, always, always use melted butter.

How To Store Brownies

Room temperature: Store your brownies wrapped in plastic wrap, foil, or an airtight container for up to 4 days but will taste best after 1-2 days.

Refrigerator: If you want your brownies to last a little bit longer, they will stay fresh in an airtight container or plastic wrap for up to a week in the refrigerator.

Freezer: Wrap your brownies in plastic wrap and place in an airtight container. Freeze for up to 3 months. To thaw your brownies place in the refrigerator overnight. By morning your brownies should be defrosted and won’t be dry and crumbly. Re heat in the microwave for 10 seconds and enjoy!
