Toddlers First Haircut, Outdoor Things, & Life Lately
GOOD EVENING!!
I guess it’s been a while since I’ve shared life with you all lately. Things have been so busy, and it doesn’t feel like it’s been this long! LOL. This past month we’ve been going to the library, celebrating birthdays, and spending all the time outside. I’ve been testing out new recipes to share, and I’ve also been trying to post on my social medias more. Time is flying by now that I’m thinking about it. How is it already June? Anyway, grab a coffee or your favorite drink while you read! I feel like this one’s going to be a long one!

Literally every morning before I roll out of bed all I can think about is a warm cup of coffee to wake me up. LOL. I’ve most definitely been drinking too much caffeine and should be cutting back. I try to stay at 200mg or less a day but these past couple weeks I’ve for sure been drinking much more than that. It’s not even that I need the caffeine I’m just a drink girly and I’m always wanting to have something yummy to drink. I can’t help it that all my favorite drinks have caffeine in them. Something I will be working on is trying to cut back on my caffeine intake though.

We have been loving the park lately and now that baby boy is crawling all he wants to do is be on the ground. Last week when we went to the park and my toddler wanted to be in the sand for most the time we were there. I decided why not lay our blanket down and let baby boy crawl around. He LOVED it. However, he did end up being in the sand more so than on the blanket. He also tried eating the sand a few times but after I stopped him, he just played and had all the fun.
That morning, they were working on the park, and my toddler was so happy about that. He just wanted to sit and watch them on all the big trucks. LOL. He’s a truck lover. He’s especially obsessed with excavators.

My toddler has been doing a lot of big boy things this past month. He was a nuk boy and I decided it was time we try and get him to stop using them. He really only used them for his naps and bedtime but I knew it was time for us to say goodbye to them.
We decided that we would get him anything he wanted from target if he would stop using his nuk. I asked him one day if we went to target and got any toy he wanted if we could say goodbye to his nuk and he said yes. So, a trip to target it was. He picked out a motorcycle and an excavator and that night he went to sleep without his nuk.
The first two nights were a little bit of a struggle. Both mornings when my husband left for work, I ended up giving him his nuk and when we woke up for the morning, I told him if his was still going to use it that we had to take his toys from target back. Both mornings he gave me his nuk and since then he’s been doing great! He will mention it from time to time, but I just remind him that it’s gone, and we have his new toys from target to play with instead and he just smiles.

My toddler also got his first hair cut! Oh my gosh do I love it, but I sure do miss his long hair. We’ve been wanting to get him a haircut for a while now, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. After lots of procrastination I finally said we could do it.

He did an awesome job and love getting his hair cut. I wasn’t surprised though I’ve been talking to him all the time about getting his hair cut and he would always tell me that he wanted to go get it cut. The hair stylist cut off 4-5 inches! I honestly can’t believe it was that long. LOL. I will miss his long hair, but I know it will grow back, and I love his short hair just as much and so does he!

He looks so much older now that he has a haircut. He’s growing so fast. I don’t know where the time is going! Speaking of growing fast baby boy is almost 8 months old. Like how? I’m trying to soak up every single minute with my boys and each time I look back on older photos I can’t believe how fast the time is going. It needs to slow down!

We’ve been going on all the walks lately, going to the park ALL THE TIME, celebrating summer birthday parties, and have so much more fun things planned for the summer. Life has been busy but it’s been an adventure and I’m so excited to share it all with you!
I can of gave up on my gardening journey… With living in an apartment and not having much room outside for planting I decided it wasn’t the best idea. My mom planted a few things for me, and I decided that was enough. Gardening will be something I do when we buy our own house.

Last Saturday was Devins sisters’ son’s birthday and we celebrated with him at his mom’s house. She lives a bit out and has a big yard. My toddler loves going there and always calls her house the park. LOL. Both my toddler and baby boy had all the fun on Saturday. We celebrated with yummy food, cake, and presents. There were all the fun outdoor activities that my toddler had a blast with. A bounce house, slides, a trampoline, a water slide, and his favorite a hose. LOL. Yes, his favorite thing he did that day was play with a hose. Ever since he’s been little, he’s loved playing with outdoor hoses.

Baby boy loved the bounce house and playing in the grass. I can’t believe he’s already crawling and pulling himself up on things. My toddler didn’t start crawling until he was almost 9 months I believe. I truly think he sees his brother and just wants to keep up with him.

With life being so busy I’ve definitely been slowing down more and really just prioritizing being in the moment with my family. I’ve also been taking time for me and giving myself more rest. I’ve been doing better to take care of myself and doing things I like rather than constantly being busy even when the boys are asleep. It’s really helped me feel better and be a better mom and wife.
Life goes by so fast, and I’ve been really realizing that it’s important to live life how you want to. You shouldn’t do things you don’t enjoy, and you most definitely should be giving yourself rest when you need it. You don’t have to go, go, go all the time. It’s important to focus on yourself just as much as it is to focus on your family.
I’m also really trying to stay in tune with Jesus. I can get so into life and everything that is going on that I forget that the only reason I am who I am and that I’m where I am today is because of him. I’m so blessed for my life and so thankful for him. I truly wouldn’t be who I am without him and am so blessed he has saved me. I’m working on making sure I’m always putting him first.

We’ve been going on all the adventures lately. My toddler has loved riding his balance bike and he’s getting so good at it. It’s definitely his favorite birthday gift we got him. You can find it on my amazon storefront! We’ve been going on lots of scooter rides, and my toddler has been loving every minute he gets to spend outside.

We’ve also been going to the library a lot more this past month. My toddler has been loving going. He loves reading and picking out new books. Next week I’m going to share our favorite book finds from the library for the week. Reading is so important for toddlers. So, I love that my toddler is a huge fan of reading.

Life has been great, and I’ve been soaking in every minute of motherhood. I love everything about being a mom and wife and I’m so thankful for this life I get to live. I really need to get back to pasting these weekly highlights more often. LOL. I hope you all have been having a good week and have been doing all the fun things!
