Picnic Date with My Boys, Outdoor fun, and Going Back to Church
Good evening!
It’s just about 9:30pm by me, the boys are asleep and I’m ready to start writing. This week flew by. Honestly this year has gone by so fast. I can’t believe we will be going into May already. Time can slow down already. My boys are growing so fast.
Besides for today and yesterday this past week has been much warmer. Me and my boys spent so much time outside this week. And then today came and I just wanted to curl up on the couch and sleep…

Tuesday me and my toddler made some walnut banana bread that my husband requested. I feel like it’s becoming a weekly thing to make banana bread in our house. I’m not complaining though I love banana bread.
I’m finally going to share how to make sourdough starter. Wednesday I was able to get some pictures taken for the post and I’ll be writing and sharing a step by step guide on how to make sourdough starter next week. Making sourdough starter really isn’t as complicated as it’s made out to be. You just have to be patient with the process.

For dinner on Tuesday I made Chicken pesto pasta. I absolutely love anything that has pesto in it. So, this dinner was a win. After dinner I took my boys outside so my toddler could play and get some of his energy out before bed.
Dinner on Wednesday was turkey meatloaf! I absolutely love meatloaf, and this meatloaf recipe is my new favorite. It’s gluten free and a pretty healthy meal idea. My toddler devoured two pieces of it! I was so surprised he liked it so much. I will definitely be making it more often.

Friday I was able to get my Easter shopping done and I also got a few things for gardening. I’m so excited to start planting! I haven’t done a lot of gardening though so I’m a little nervous. I bought a bunch of flower seeds and some herbs. I’m super excited to plant the flowers. I never used to be a flower person but the last couple of months I’ve absolutely loved getting flowers. I feel like I need to have a vase of flowers on my counter at all times. LOL. I’m going to start some indoor planting this week. Wish me luck!
We had lots of family time on Friday and went to the park by once I got home from the store and my toddler woke up from his nap. Parks are his new favorite thing! Once it’s warm I definitely think we will be going to the park daily.

Saturday was the warmest day of the week, and we spent most of the day outside. My toddler was super happy about that. I’ve been wanting to have a picnic with my boys for the longest time, and it hasn’t been quite warm enough. Saturday it was!
Picnics are most definitely going to happen a lot this Spring and Summer. I’d love for us to have them a couple of times a week.
Both my toddler and baby boy loved our picnic. I made sourdough peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and I cut up some fruit. My toddler requested some teddy bear grahams and of course I brought a bubbl’r along. The new peach flavor is by far the BEST! Since I’ve started making sourdough bread my toddler has liked sandwiches so much more. He ate all of his pb&j when we had our picnic, and I don’t think he’s ever eaten his full sandwich before. I’m happy he loves sourdough bread as much as mom and dad do.

After our picnic and lots of playing with bubbles and chalk Devin wanted to ride scooters around for a little bit. We rode around the neighborhood and once our toddler was over it we decided to take the boys to the park. Again. LOL.
I need to work on my chalk skills. LOL. I’m just not a very artistic person. I wish I was, but I never have been. I’m hoping this summer I can work on that and become a better artist. LOL.
My toddler finally went on the monkey bars on Saturday when we went to the park. I’m so proud of him! He’s always been too scared to even with the help of either me or Devin. I’m glad he finally let Devin help him.
Baby boy literally just chills and loves watching his brother play. Both my boys sleep SO good when they’re outside. I’m not going to lie so do I. LOL. Something about the fresh air just puts me to sleep.

Since having baby boy I’ve really been slacking on going to church on Sundays. I kept saying I would start going again and I just kept skipping. Sunday was the first Sunday is almost 6 months that I went to church. Now that I stuck to my word and went, I’m going to continue to go weekly. It’s super important to me to go to church and to have it be something that’s in my boy’s lifestyle.
Sunday evening was spent at the park with some of Devins family. We weren’t home until after 6 so we decided to order some culvers. If you live in Wisconsin, you know how good culvers is! I’ve been trying to make it a habit to not eat take out very much but tonight was definitely one of those nights that it was bound to happen. LOL.

Monday morning, I went over to my parents house with my boys. My dad’s birthday was Saturday, and I wanted to bring him a birthday gift because I wasn’t able to stop over on Saturday.
My parents have some chickens, and my toddler absolutely loves going over there and seeing them. All he could talk about when we got home was the chickens. Thankfully he will get to see them again when we go over there to spend Easter with my side of the family.
While baby boy and my toddler napped, I was able to get a good workout and run in. After my shower I made a loaf of gluten free and dairy free strawberry banana bread. This strawberry banana bread is so good! My toddler absolutely loved it as well. I love when I make new things that my toddler loves. Sometimes it can be a struggle to find healthier things he likes eating so it’s always a win when he likes my recipes. Drizzle some honey on this bread when you make it. Trust me it’s so good!

Today I had planned to go on a coffee date with my boys. I brought along my toddlers activity bag and I had decided we would go to Dunkin donuts and one of the bigger parks in the town we were in. The drive was about 15 minutes and when we got there, they were doing construction on the building. Luckily Starbucks was just a few minutes away and we went there instead.
I got a cinnamon dolce latte and it fit perfect for the chilly morning. My toddler wanted a cake pop, and I also got him a strawberry acai. That’s one of my husbands favorite things to get from Starbucks and my toddler always steals drinks from him so I knew he’d love it. Starbucks was pretty full, so we weren’t able to sit inside. We sat outside for a little bit but not much longer than 5 minutes because my toddler wanted to go to the park. LOL.
Honestly if I knew it was as cold as it was before we left, we probably wouldn’t have gone anywhere today. I didn’t realize how cold it really was until we got to the park. It literally felt like it was still wintertime. My toddler though, didn’t’ care. He was so happy to be at the park and he had so much fun playing. Baby boy on the other hand didn’t like it one bit. I made sure he was nice and cozy in his carrier which he loved.
I got this mickey mouse Moby wrap from kohls when I was pregnant with my toddler. It’s one of my favorite wraps to use. If you have a toddler and baby wraps and carriers are a life saver! I highly suggest getting at least one of each. We have three wraps and two carriers. My husband loves the carriers. I have the ones we bought all on my amazon storefront! I honestly don’t know how I’d do the things I do without having a baby wrap. They literally make things so much easier! Especially if you’re a mom to more than one.

We had stuffed peppers for dinner tonight and let me tell you they were so good! The recipe will be posted tomorrow night!
I hope you all enjoyed your week! Can you believe it’s almost May? It’s crazy how fast the year is going by. Thanks for reading I hope you enjoyed!
