Easter Weekend 2025 and Life

Hey guys, happy Tuesday!

We had a fun Easter weekend filled with lots of family time. I look forward to when we have our own house and we’re able to host holidays for our families. Hosting for holidays has been something I’ve always wanted to do. I think it would be so much fun!

lifestyle

The past week hasn’t been super warm by any means but thankfully the sun did come out a little bit over the weekend. We celebrated Easter with both sides of the family along with having our own little Easter at our place on Sunday. Although it was a busy weekend it was well spent with lots of family time and all the fun for my boys.

Saturday morning I shaped a loaf of bread into a bunny and threw it in the oven while I got myself and the boys ready to go spend Easter with my husband’s side of the family. Let me tell you getting ready to go out takes a whole lot more time when you have a toddler and baby. But it’s definitely worth it and makes things all the more special. I planned to make a sourdough loaf shaped as a bunny and my carrot cake cookies to my in laws house. I was super excited about the bunny loaf but when I was taking the loaf out of my Dutch oven the head broke off… So, I decided not to bring it.

I love making things for special events and holidays. Planning out what I’m going to make and bringing to each event makes me so happy. I start planning out what I’ll be bringing so far in advance. LOL. This is why I think I’d love hosting so much. I’d be able to make everyone’s favorite recipes and plan everything out myself. (I love planning by the way). Plus, my boys would have so much fun helping out. One day guys… One day.

A couple weeks ago I looked way ahead at the weather to get an idea of what the weather would be like Easter weekend, and I was surprised when I saw it would be in the 60s. That wasn’t the case by the time Saturday came. It was in the low 50s and a bit chilly since the sun wasn’t out the whole day. However, Saturday we did spend a good amount of the day outside and later in the afternoon the sun did decide to stop hiding.

Saturday was spent eating lots of yummy food and enjoying some time outside with family. My in laws live about 30 minutes away in a small town and the area they live in is a bit out. They have a huge yard and my toddler is obsessed. He was able to get all his energy out running, playing in a sandbox (his absolute favorite), riding on a lawn mower with grandpa, finding his easter basket, and having an easter egg hunt. He had a blast.

My toddler isn’t a huge fan of napping at other people’s house, so he didn’t get a nap in and about 15 minutes into our car ride home and he was out. I was hoping he would stay awake and just have a little bit of an earlier bedtime, however that didn’t happen. LOL. We let him nap for about 45 minutes and then woke him up so he wouldn’t be up all night. LOL. If you know you know.

I loved putting together my boys Easter baskets this year. We decided not to go crazy, but I was still able to fill the baskets with things all 3 of my boy’s love. Easter is way more fun since having kids! As all the holidays are. I love creating fun traditions and being able to have fun and lasting memories. It’s literally the best.

easter 2025

Sunday morning, I made omelets for breakfast and before church my toddler and husband found their easter baskets. I left baby boys easter basket just sitting under the coffee table so that he would easily be able to see it. He crawled right to it as soon I set him down over by it.

After church and my toddlers nap, we did a little indoor easter egg hunt for my toddler. I wanted to do one outside, but it was pretty chilly and raining out. I’m telling you I think this is my toddler’s favorite thing about easter. Finding all the easter eggs. Last year he also had a blast during all the easter egg hunts we did. He loves anything to do with eggs, so he also had a blast coloring eggs too. Next year I’d really love to ditch the dye tablets and color eggs with natural things. I really wanted to do that this year, but things were just so busy I didn’t have the time to do it. Next year will be the year!

I made ham, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and sourdough rolls for our easter dinner. I’m planning on sharing my sourdough dinner roll recipe at some point. I just want to get the recipe down perfectly!

This year my family wasn’t able to get together until Tuesday to spend easter together. Thankfully everything worked out as planned and everyone made it! We spent Tuesday eating lots of yummy food, along with the kids finding easter eggs and baskets. It was pretty chilly up until about 5:00pm. That’s when the sun came out and the kids went outside to find all the easter eggs. My toddler literally had a blast I think he found the most eggs out of everyone.

cousins

My parents have their own chickens, so you bet my toddler talked about the chickens all day long. From the moment I told him we were going over there up until bedtime. He said seeing the chickens was his favorite part of the day. He really wanting to go in with the chickens to hold them and pet them. One of his older cousins brought one out for everyone to see. He was super happy about that.

I’d love to have our own chickens one day when we buy our own house. I love the thought of being able to have our own eggs. Plus, they’re so expensive. Maybe it’ll be something we do one day. My toddler would love chickens just as much as I would. Maybe even more. LOL.

boy mom

I feel like life is going so fast. I’m trying to soak up every bit of motherhood as I can, but I do wish time would slow down. Baby boy is 6 months old now and I feel like just yesterday my toddler was born. Don’t get me wrong I love seeing my boys grow up and everything they learn, but if it could just slow down a little bit that would be great. I never thought time would go as fast as it’s going. It’s honestly crazy.

walks

Now that it’s getting warmer, we’ll be able to start going on more walks and let me tell you I am super excited about that. I love having a daily morning and evening walk. There is just something about starting and ending your day with a nice walk that makes the day so much better. My toddler loves walks as well. He will normally just walk with me unless he’s eating a snack then he likes to sit in his stroller while we go for our walks. Baby boy loves being in his wrap while either sleeping or watching all the things we pass by. He’s getting to the age where he doesn’t want to nap but when we’re walking around, he can’t help by fall asleep. It makes nap time easy for him.

mom life
toddler fun

I love all our outside time. It really helps me slow down and be super present with my boys. Something I try really hard to do as a mom and a wife is to be present. It’s something I’ve always wanted to make sure to do. Especially when life gets so busy I try to give all three of my boys as much of my attention as possible. I always want to be putting them first.
