Easter Basket Shopping, Gardening Things, and Family Time

Happy Friday!

Today was spent Easter shopping for my boys, along with also getting some things for gardening, and lots of family time. This is my toddlers third Easter. HOW??? And baby boys first Easter. Time is flying and my boys are getting so big so fast!

With Easter almost here I thought it would be fun to share everything I bought for all my boys Easter baskets. Although I don’t celebrate Easter because of the Easter baskets I do think it’s a fun little tradition to do with my family. There is just something about waking up and knowing that there is a basket full of your favorite things hidden somewhere.

This morning both boys were up around 6:15. Which is early for us. After our normal morning routine, I decided to take the boys outside since it was already almost in the 40s! The sun was out, and it literally felt so warm out. Warmer days are ahead!

My toddler was super tired since he isn’t used to getting up at 6:15. A normal morning for him usually starts at 8:00. We didn’t spend a whole lot of outside time in the morning since I knew he was going to need an early nap. He was passed out before 11:30! I did promise him we’d go to the park after his nap, and he was so excited. My hubby has Fridays off, so he stayed home while my toddler napped, and I took baby boy with to go Easter basket shopping and to pick up some gardening things.

I picked up some soil, a new watering can, a cute stand, and lots of seeds. I mostly got flower seeds and herbs. I’m so, so excited to get my little garden going. I haven’t done a whole lot of gardening but I’m excited to start and learn so much! I bought my toddler his own gardening set for his Easter basket that I think he’s going to be obsessed with. He loves helping me with all the things and he’s been carrying the water can around asking for me to put water in it ever since I brought it inside. LOL. He’s going to be my little garden helper. I can’t wait!

I literally can’t believe baby boy is going to be six months old this month! He’s growing so fast. I feel like he’s growing faster than my toddler did at that age. I love seeing his personality come out I just wish time would slow down a little bit.

easter

Last year we did a little Easter egg hunt with my toddler, and he absolutely loved it. So, this year I decided that we should do the same thing. This time I want to do it outside. I think he’ll have even more fun since he loves it outside so much! Next year baby boy will be able to join in on the fun. I bet he’ll love it just as much as my toddler.

Me and Devin decided not to go crazy for the boys on Easter this year. With me staying home and us only having one income we don’t have as much extra money to spend on things and both boys have so much stuff as it is. We didn’t want to get them a bunch of stuff they don’t need. Devin lets me do all the shopping for holidays which I LOVE! I picked out a cute summer outfit for the boys (I didn’t mean to have them somewhat match), some Easter books, and then some little treats I know they will love.

Since baby boy is almost 6 months old, we’ve been slowly introducing purees. He’s not a huge fan of them yet but I thought he’d love to try some pouches. I also bought a teether and some maracas for baby boy. I bought all this stuff from Walmart. However, Amazon had these super cute bunny Easter baskets that I bought for my boys.

Now for Devin I picked out some of his favorite chocolate and candy along with some car air fresheners, some of his favorite body soap, and a new water bottle for work. I was so happy I found this basket for my husband’s Easter basket at Walmart. I didn’t want to get him a basic basket. This one is more adult ish LOL. Is that even a word?

I came home to my toddler awake and asking to go to the park immediately. LOL. It’s amazing how he can remember these things. Me and my husband got both boys ready, and I started up a loaf of sourdough bread and did a stretch and fold before leaving for the park. I drove the boys to the park and Devin rode his scooter. LOL. He’s literally obsessed with his scooters.

When we got to the park my toddler played on the playground for maybe five minutes before, he wanted to go and throw rocks in the water. I’m telling you he would throw rocks in the water for hours if I let him. I don’t think he could ever get sick of it.

Baby boy was really tired since he was up almost the whole time we were shopping. He decided to only take a twenty five minute nap so he wasn’t in a super great mood after that. We stopped at another park for a little while before heading home.

We had an easy dinner tonight. Frozen pizza. Which I was totally okay with since we were busy all day and I didn’t really feel like cooking and doing a bunch of dishes. My toddler and husband were happy with it, so I was too.

We spent the rest of the night relaxing and playing with our boys. Now it’s currently a little after 10:00pm everyone is sleeping and all is peaceful.

Is anyone else as excited about Easter as I am? Since having kiddos I’ve loved the holidays even more. I love seeing them experience the holidays and making special memories together as a family!
