My First Air Show, 4th Of July Crafts, and Library Books
This past week I haven’t been as busy as I normally am. I did go to my first ever air show though! But I’ve been staying home more with the boys the past couple days and it feels so nice to slow down. I love doing fun things with my boys, but I was doing something almost daily and I noticed it was starting to be a lot for me. I decided I should start taking a few days a week to just stay home with them. I’m so glad I did this!
My toddler has been loving painting recently and he wants to paint almost every morning. It might be something that stays a part of our morning routine. He loves trying to paint circles and hearts. LOL. If I could I would just sit outside on our balcony drinking my coffee and watching him paint I would. It’s literally the sweetest thing and before I know it, I’ll have two little boys wanting to paint every morning.

On Tuesday morning we went to the park and both boys had a blast. My toddler is getting less scared to try new things and has been loving everything at the parks. Baby boy isn’t scared of anything LOL. I let him crawl around all over and he loves it so much. I think baby boy is going to be much crazier than my toddler. He wants to do everything my toddler does now so I can’t imagine what he’ll want to do when he’s my toddlers age.

Tuesday was Gymnastics class for my toddler as well and he loved it just as much as the first time. He’ll go again tomorrow and I’m looking forward to it so much. We’ve started practicing gymnastics here since he likes it so much and he sure has a blast here as well. It’s crazy how much I love watching my toddler and baby boy learn everything. If our days were filmed, I would literally watch them every night before I went to bed.

I’m torn between my toddler napping or skipping his naps. It’s so hard to get him down for naps, but then if he does nap it’s hard to get him down for bed. And then if he doesn’t nap, he gets super tired and is pretty cranky starting around 4pm.
It’s no big deal to me that it takes time for him to get to sleep I just feel like I’m wasting time he could be awake doing things. And he really doesn’t get tired enough for a nap until 3-4 in the afternoon. (most days) I don’t know what to do LOL.
Baby boy has been really fighting his naps too. I feel like this was about the time my toddler started taking less naps as well. I honestly think baby boy is just ready for only two naps. That is at least for most days LOL. There are some days he gets up way earlier than normal and I know he’d need another nap that day.

Last week when we went to the library we definitely didn’t bring home as many books as we normally do. But we did pick out some good ones!
- Snow
- Wind
- Rain
- Listen Up Train Song (my toddlers favorite)
- Touch and Trace 123
- Touch and Trace ABC
- Trace the Trial Follow that Truck
- Blippi Touch and Feel
- Baby Shark Explore the Ocean
- Animal Bus
- Peek-a Who
- Touch The Brightest Star
- The Three Little Kittens
- Ready or Not Here Come Scout
You can find all the books on my amazon storefront!
We have read these library books so many times. LOL. It’s definitely time for another library trip. I really should look at the adult books and find some I would like to read. I used to read all the time but since becoming a mom and along with blogging I haven’t made much time for it. That’s going to change though. Reading is so beneficial, and I really love it. I just have to make the time for it.

We’ve been spending as much time as we can outside now that it’s warmer, but baby boy really can’t be out super long before he needs to go inside to cool down. My toddler would stay outside in the heat all day if I let him.
On Thursday I made some blueberry pie bars and my gosh I can’t wait to try them with other fruit as well as a healthier version. The were so much fun to make and my husband, toddler, and baby boy loved them just as much as I did. They taste so much like a blueberry pie but without having to make the pie crust and are a lot easier. You should definitely try them out especially if you love pie and blueberry recipes. These bars would be perfect to make for the 4th of July.

Friday was spent with a slow morning and more painting for my toddler. We planned to go to the air show a few months back and I had been telling my toddler for weeks that we were going to be seeing lots of airplanes soon. He’s obsessed with airplanes so we knew that he would love the air show.

The air show was both on Friday and Saturday and we only planned to go on Friday. My husband and toddler had a blast though, so we decided to go back on Saturday for at least part of the day especially since our wrist bands were good for both days.
Both days at the air show were filled with yummy food, airplanes, toddler and baby giggles, and fun. I think my husband had the most fun out of everyone. LOL. My toddler loved it too, but Saturday was pretty hot, and he definitely felt it.

Me and baby boy had lots of fun as well. I loved the family time and food as well as watching the planes. It’s crazy that people can do the things they do in planes. I don’t think I could ever bring myself to do some of the things that they do if I was able to do it. LOL.
We will for sure be making this a yearly thing if we stay living in Wisconsion. I just know the boys will love it more and more as they get older.

Sunday, I went grocery shopping by myself for the first time since having my boys. It felt so weird to be alone. It was definitely much quicker and easier, but I will say I like when my boys are with me more. Yes, it slows me down and takes longer but there is just something about it that I love. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and spending time together. How most Sundays are and should be.

Today was another day that I just stayed home with my boys while my husband was at work. are day was filled with playing outside, cleaning up around the apartment, walks, and 4th of July crafts. My toddler skipped his nap today so both boys were down for bed pretty early. My toddler was sleeping close to 8 and baby boy shortly after that.
I did two 4th of July crafts with my toddler and just one with baby boy. When I tried doing the hand one with him it didn’t go as planned. LOL. He had a fist the whole time and I couldn’t get him to open his hand at all. He just tried eating his hand the whole time. LOL.

I found both these 4th of July craft ideas on TikTok. As almost every other craft that I do. LOL. I’ll link the videos for you guys. By this time next year, I want to be a pro at making crafts with my boys. I for sure need some work. I’ve never been a crafty girl, but I decided that needed to change this year. LOL. American Flag, Hand Firework.

I love days like today. They’re slow and so peaceful. I love the quality time with my boys and being able to catch up on things around the house. It really shows me how much I love motherhood and being a wife. I love everything about my life, and I love sharing it with you guys!
I’m going to be fitting in some more lifestyle, motherhood posts on my blog next month. I love writing and I thought it would be fun to do things different. I have a series planned (something I’m going to be doing more often) and it’s going to be something exciting for both me and you to look forward to on my blog. I’ll still be posting all my recipes. I’ll just be posting more often. And as long as I have the time, I’ll be sharing more recipes as well. Stay tuned things are about to get fun!
